The Kagera AIDS Research Project

Project Office in Bukoba

The Kagera AIDS Research Project has since its inception been provided with an office space by the regional medical officer in Kagera. However, until November 2003 the project was housed in a small container that was being shared with the regional AIDS coordinator in Bukoba. In November, the regional medical officer availed the project a large building, which was renovated for use by the project. The building has one large hall in which the team of 16 field workers meets and prepares materials for fieldwork. There are also two other offices, one for the field coordinator and the other for data processing. In the latter room the project has computer facilities for data processing a photocopier and Internet facilities. The building has a store for keeping field related materials, a kitchenette and toilet facilities.
